About the Studio

Who We Are

LearnHubPlay is an independent software studio based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce as learnhubplay (KVK 97741825). We design and build small, focused tools that solve one everyday problem well — instead of sprawling platforms that try to do everything.

What We Build

Our portfolio spans browser extensions, desktop and web apps, and autonomous agents:

• TabNotes — a Chrome extension that attaches sticky notes to browser tabs, URLs, and domains, so your thinking stays where you were thinking it.
• FocusWall Pro — a distraction blocker built on cognitive friction rather than hard bans, redirecting procrastination toward your actual goals.
• AgentReady — a tool that makes websites agent-readable, generating llms.txt files and Markdown mirrors and reporting which AI crawlers actually read them.
• DocPod — an autonomous enterprise learning agent that converts policy documents and training manuals into multi-host podcasts and quizzes.
• TechCast Studio — a cross-platform screen recorder and editor for producing polished tutorials and course material.
• Tend — a local-first Mac manager that explains what changed across apps, startup, storage, drives, battery and backups, with focused tools to review or reverse it safely.
• Sticky Companion — floating, local-first sticky notes for macOS with checklists, reminders, and timers.

How We Work

Every product starts as a tool we needed ourselves. We prototype quickly, ship early, and refine based on real use. Three principles run through everything we build:

• Local-first where possible. Your notes, habits, and recordings should live on your device by default, not on our servers.
• Zero fluff. Small feature sets, fast interfaces, no dark patterns, no engagement bait.
• Respect for attention. We build tools that help people focus — so the tools themselves must not become distractions.

Why the Blog Exists

Building productivity tools forces you to think hard about how note-taking, focus, habit formation, and knowledge sharing actually work. Our blog distills what we’ve learned building and using these tools every day — practical workflows you can apply with or without our software.
